We Hear You—A Climate Archive is a global performance project exploring youth perspectives on the climate emergency co-conceived by Earth Commons Artist-in-Residence Caitlin Nasema Cassidy.

We Hear You—A Climate Archive announces a global call for climate storytellers. Inspired by Greta Thunberg’s urgent question, “Can you hear me?,” the project will commission 77 young people to tell stories about what it’s like to be alive in this pivotal moment. These stories will first be shared in generative online story sessions led by the project’s creative team before being published online, preserved in a long-term archive, and amplified through a global series of performance events, including a world-premiere production at Dramaten (The Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden).

We Hear You—A Climate Archive is looking for young tale-tellers of all kinds who have something urgent to say about their connections to the earth: students, activists, gardeners, cyclists, water protectors, farmers, wisdom-keepers, fisherfolk, animal-lovers, faith leaders, journalists, tree-huggers, biologists, middle-schoolers, mountain climbers, projectionists, and peacemakers. The project seeks storytellers from a diverse set of ecosystems, or biomes, with special emphasis on most affected people and areas.

“We believe that young people’s experiences and perspectives—which have not historically been centered in climate policy conversations—are urgently necessary,” says Project Director Caitlin Nasema Cassidy. “When we imagine this project, we’re excited about a majority of the stories coming from people between the ages of 15 and 25, but those numbers are not hard boundaries. If you feel like you’re a part of this group and are passionate about what you have to share, we’d love to hear from you.”
