Environmental Impacts”
Artificial Intelligence & Climate Researcher. Leading Scientist at the nexus of artificial intelligence, ethics, and sustainability, with a PhD in AI and a decade of research and industry expertise. She is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Sustainable AI Group , a research and advisory firm helping enterprises measure, compare, and act on the environmental impacts of AI.

Professor at The University of British Columbia. His research covers the politics of social movements, consumption, technology, and corporations, especially the consequences for social inequality and ecosystem degradation in the global South.

PhDc Alex de Vries-Gao
PhD candidate at the Institute for Environmental Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and founder of Digiconomist, an independent research platform examining the unintended consequences of digital technologies. His research has helped shape the global debate on the environmental impacts of blockchain and artificial intelligence, spanning energy use, carbon emissions, water consumption, and electronic waste.

Exploring complex ideas on the Capitol Campus

The series is presented as a part of the Earth Commons’ ECo Talks seminars, which bring together Georgetown students, faculty, and researchers in a weekly seminar series on Georgetown’s Capitol Campus.
