Duyen Hai (Aurora) Doan is a graduate researcher whose work focuses on quantifying and modeling risk under uncertainty, from disaster impacts on public infrastructure to portfolio construction under asymmetric financial risk. At Georgetown, she works with Dr. Roshi Nateghi and the SURGE Lab on a spatiotemporal clustering analysis of hurricane-driven school closures across the United States, developing severity metrics and using Lorenz curves and Gini coefficients to study how disaster impacts concentrate across communities. She is an M.S. candidate in Mathematics and Statistics at Georgetown University, with research interests extending to quantitative finance and risk modeling.
