Amy Gambrill brings more than 25 years of leadership advancing environmental efforts in the United States and worldwide to Road to Recovery (R2R), a conservation initiative of the Earth Commons Institute dedicated to reversing the decline of North America’s bird populations. Previously, she managed a portfolio of USAID–funded biodiversity, resilience, water, and climate programs across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. She believes in the power of turning knowledge into action.
Earlier in her career, Amy worked on the restoration of Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique and the management of Eastern High Atlas National Park in Morocco, where she focused on species recovery, habitat protection, and community engagement. Amy also served as communications director for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Water Program. She enjoys working with disparate groups to find solutions that address environmental challenges while meeting the needs of communities. Amy holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
