About ECo Talks: ECo Talks are the Earth Commons’ weekly Friday gatherings that feature experts, research, and real-world solutions on environment and sustainability. They’re a place for students, faculty, and partners to connect, learn, and share ideas.
Dr. Brian Griffiths, Assistant Teaching Professor at the Earth Commons, presented “Conservation, Management, and Ecology of Large-bodied Mammals in the Amazon.” He shared powerful stories and videos from his work with the Indigenous Maijuna people of Peru, showing how community-based conservation can protect biodiversity, support food security, and strengthen local economies.
Following the talk, our ECo Social brought together students, faculty, staff and friends for lively conversation and networking. It was a big success, and we’re thrilled to keep connecting, strengthening our community, and growing our impact downtown.
