Max Gruenig

Max Gruenig is a climate and energy economist with expertise and experience in the US and Europe, working with E3G in Washington DC. Max was the President of Ecologic Institute US from 2015 until 2020, and has worked for Ecologic Institute Berlin from 2007 to 2018. Max has conducted research on European and US energy and climate policy, on the economics of emissions trading; on urban sustainability, on transport economics and on Arctic sustainability. He has lectured frequently at universities and other entities about the economics of energy and climate policy, and has briefed Members of Congress and testified for state and national legislators.

In 2004, Max Gruenig received his degree in economics from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU Berlin, Germany). The main focus of his studies was natural resource economics and auction theory. Max Gruenig has lived and worked in Germany, the United States, Iceland, and Japan. He is a native speaker of German and is fluent in English and French. He is a co-founder of POCACITO.
